Happy New Blah Blah!

New Year Resolutions Blah Blah! Every social media post and advert seems to point to setting your goals for 2021.

This is the time of year for new beginnings, new intentions isn't it?

Truth is, many of us feel under pressure to make New Year Resolutions - "this will be the year I lose weight, get fit, save money, change my job etc.,...."

So, why is this year going to be different to all the others when similar resolutions were made and by February they were a distant memory or you were beating yourself up for not sticking with them?

If nothing else, the last 12 months has taught me that going with the flow and not having such rigid expectations about what I will, or will not achieve, what I will do, where I will go, who I will spend time with and being ok with that, is important for my well-being.

I'm not saying that hopes and intentions are not valid, they are - thinking about how we would like our lives to unfold is important. However, the overriding sentiment for me is about today, the here and now.

What 1 thing can I do today to make today a good day? When I talk about a good day, I mean one where I can live my values through what I am doing; live my life and not just exist.

This year I am not setting any New Year resolutions. My intention is that by the end of this year I will have helped many more people say goodbye to the things that get in the way of them enjoying their work and their life. By doing that this year will be a good one!

Does any of this resonate with you?

Work-Life Balance is not about managing your time better, it's about living a full and contented life; learning how to handle the tough situations, getting curious about what's possible, making the changes you want.
